I hope you have been smiling a lot from couple of days as I asked you to do that. So now, let us move to the FIRST STEP. Obviously, it is simple because I made it, It has to be simple right.
But before we start with the steps, answer me one thing, do you want to be happy? Yes? Say it again. Yes? Than let's be happy.
FIRST STEP: MAKE A LIST OF YOUR GOOD QUALITIES.
So first, you have to make a list of 'Things you are good at' it can include all the good things that you have done in your life and also all the things you are good at basically, all your good qualities.
And yes, good qualities can involve "I am pretty", "I am sweet" anything like that. And good things that you have done can involve anything for example: "I made someone laugh once", "I helped someone", Or even "I wanted to help someone but I was too scared to go and ask". Because thinking of helping someone is a good thing on it's own. Not everyone think of doing good for others. So it is a good quality.
SECOND STEP: REPEAT. REPEAT. AND AGAIN REPEAT.
Now what you have to do is, read that list or remind that list in your mind every time you feel low. And now comes the real step, every time bad memories and things that make you depressed come to your mind repeat " I'M GONNA BE HAPPY AND I WILL NOT LET ANYTHING BREAK ME DOWN. BECAUSE I AM SMART, I AM GOOD AND I AM AWESOME AND I WILL ALWAYS BE". Keep repeating it.
*Remember* When you will do this repeat after repeat trick, your mind will give you many reasons why you shouldn't be happy because that's how our brain works. But once you'll keep repeating it after resisting those thoughts, your mind will start giving you reasons for why you should be happy and once that happens your problem is solved.
→Why this works: Increased repetition of certain thought patterns (and neural pathways) is said to condition our brains to begin thinking in these new ways. It’s kind of like working a muscle: the more repetitions you do, the stronger the thought will become. So when we give our brain a positive thought it accepts it, if, the negative side of it doesn't exist already. If the negative side exists, the brain resists to accept the new command but repetition of the same sentence makes the thought stronger, thus, making us believe it is real.
Do this every time you feel sad or depressed. Just make sure you are determined and focused. Because you can only be happy if you genuinely want to be happy.→Keep in mind: When you will be doing these steps, depression will knock your doors and you will feel lacking but at that time just don't loose hope and fight with it. Keep repeating and smiling in front of your mirror and keep that image in your mind. That image will channel positive thoughts in your mind.
